Siddhartha's Intent invites you to join Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and Lama Choedak Rinpoche over the Web for a 10-day teaching on
Parting from the Four Attachments, held at the International Buddhist Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 2-11 June, 2009. This will be Khyentse Rinpoche's only public teaching in 2009. Same-day MP3 downloads (including Lama Choedak Rinpoche's revision and meditation sessions, and Chinese/Mandarin and Spanish translations of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche teachings) are available here. In addition, listeners can submit questions via e-mail.

How fortunate we are!
Hi Everyone,
getting ready to leave Nepal on Tuesday for Hong Kong. The teachings have been sublime as only Rinpoche knows how to express the wisdom of Manjushri. He left to go somewhere to continue his retreat and though nothing was actually said the feeling is that he will be in retreat for at least another year. The amazing clarity by which he has the ability to express himself to the western mind is really inspirational as he manages to focus on the key points of the teachings pointing out what is important and what we can let go of continually. So easy to get lost in all the elaboration and the form especially with the vajrayana path. More and more the masters are stressing the need for a foundation where sitting, just sitting is the essential part of one's daily practice. The whole afternoon sessions during the retreat was focused on shamatha and more shamatha. In the morning Rinpoche focused on the Mahayana path and these teachings of "Parting from the 4 attachments "were the essence of the mahayana path. Until we get a firm foundation in the basic principles of the Buddhist view your whole path will remain very shakey and probably will not bring about the results that it was designed to. Dissolving our dualistic tendencies that perpetuate our ego psychology. We may be doing very elaborate practices but if our negative habits and tendencies are not getting weaker then the path is probably not working for us personally. Be honest with yourselves and ask if the path is working for you is it really opening you to another way of seeing that is less ego centered. Its DKR's birthday on the 18th June so please offer prayers and some lamps for his long life as this is his obstacle year. Also on the 17th its Wesak a good day to cultivate merit. Make as many offerings as you can do as much practice as you can whatever you know is fine and dedicate it to the benefit of all.

Amor. Ani Zamba
